1921 inWakayama Prefecture is aJapanese philosopher associated with thepostwar Kyoto School . He graduated inphilosophy fromKyoto University in1943 , and trained in akamikaze human torpedo ("gyorai":魚雷) squad. His main professional interest in philosophy lies in the fields of logic, and Americanpragmatism , especially with its founding fathersCharles Sanders Peirce ,William James andJohn Dewey .
