Passagassawakeag River

The Passagassawakeag River is a river in Waldo County, Maine in the United States. The river is approximately 11 miles long. Its source is north-by-northwest of Belfast, Maine and it empties into the Penobscot Bay at Belfast, where it passes under US Route 1. According to historian Joseph Williamson, the Penobscot name means "place of ghosts."
