Rolldown

Rolldown

Rolldown was a US lottery game administered by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). It was played in a number of jurisdictions that sell MUSL's most popular game, Powerball. It began in September 2000 and was discontinued in April 2002. It was replaced by Hot Lotto, which is still being played as of September 2008.

Players paid US$1 for each game, which consisted of five numbers from 01 to 55. A winning ticket matched at least two numbers. If there was no ticket with a perfect match, the top prize rolled down into the other three prize levels (4/5, 3/5, and 2/5), unlike traditional games where the first prize "jackpots" and rolls over.

Wisconsin, although also a MUSL member, offered its own 5/55 game (Money Roll) with a rolldown feature during much of the time MUSL Rolldown was played.
