- Lynn Colliar
Lynn Colliar (born November 22) in
Scotland , but grew up inBritish Columbia . She is currently a co-anchor with Steve Darling on theGlobal BC Morning News. From 1998-2001, she was the sole Morning News anchor.She is a graduate of
Terry Fox Secondary and went on to SFU where she graduated with a degree in Biology. Lynn worked at veterinary clinics as an assistant for seven years. She then became a member of the Journalism program at the British Columbia institute of Technology.In 1991, Lynn went to work at
Global BC where she began as a news writer and then later on moved to a full-time reporting position. She did a production called "A Shred of Evidence", a half hour special, was awarded the Excellence in News Reporting by the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters. The production dealt with how intricate scientific details pieced together evidence, which lead to convictions in major B.C. homicides.In March 2003, she was involved in a feud with talk show host
Tom Leykis , in which he was to donate $50,000 to a charity of her choice if she bared her breasts and had them signed by Leykis at a local bar where he was to be hosting an event. This feud arose after her co-anchor Steve Darling did a satellite interview with Leykis, and after Darling reiterated Leykis' plans, Colliar responded with "Oh, joy."In 2005 Lynn was inducted into the Terry Fox Wall of Fame.
In her spare time Colliar likes to travel and enjoys mountain biking.
