The Charles E. Schmidt College of Biomedical Science is an academic college of Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, Florida, USA. The college houses a regional campus of the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine. This unique public/private partnership enables students to complete their entire medical education in Boca Raton. The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University (UMMSM at FAU) is one of only ten medical schools in the United States to receive an Association of American Medical Colleges grant, supported by the Josiah Macy Foundation, to enhance medical students’ and medical residents’ ability to care for patients with chronic diseases.cite press release

Charles E. Schmidt College of Biomedical Science is divided into the following two departments:
* Basic Science
* Clinical Science and Medical Education

Medical program

In 2004, the College of Biomedical Science launched a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program in conjunction with the University of Miami's Leonard Miller School of Medicine. Known as the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at FAU (UMMSM@FAU), the collaboration established a regional campus of the Miller School of Medicine at Florida Atlantic's Boca Raton campus. The regional campus at Florida Atlantic is fully accredited under the accreditation granted to the University of Miami School of Medicine by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the accrediting body for all M.D.-granting medical schools in the United States and Canada.cite web | title = UMSM@FAU | publisher = The University of Miami | url =http://www6.miami.edu/UMH/CDA/UMH_Main/0,1770,2600-1;31823-3,00.html | accessdate =2007-05-26] The curriculum's are identical at both campuses. Plans originally called for the construction of a new teaching hospital in coordination with Boca Raton Community Hospital on the main campus.
