Condon played his club
hurling with the famous St. Finbarr's club on the southside of Cork. He enjoyed much success at underage levels, before later winning senior county championship titles in 1942, 1943, 1944, 1946 and 1947.Inter-county
Condon first came to prominence as a hurler with Cork in 1941. That year he captained the county's minor team to a Munster victory before later claiming the All-Ireland title. The following year Condon was recruited onto the Cork senior team. He played a key role in helping his native-county capture the Munster title, before later winning the All-Ireland title. In 1943 Condon missed Cork's victory in the Munster final through injury, however, he was fit to play in the All-Ireland final against Antrim. On that day Cork trounced the Glensmen and Condon collected his second All-Ireland medal. 1944 was an historic year for Cork. That year the county won an unprecedented, and since unequalled, fourth All-Ireland title in-a-row. Once again Condon played a key role throughout the campaign, this time as captain of the team, and he added a second Munster medal and a third All-Ireland medal to his collection. Condon was captain again in 1945, however, Cork lost their provincial crown in their first game. Cork won Munster and All-Ireland honours again in 1946, however, Condon missed the championship. He returned to captain the side in 1947, winning a third Munster medal and narrowly missing out on another All-Ireland medal following a defeat by Kilkenny in the final.
Condon also captained Munster to
Railway Cup victory in 1944. He died onOctober 27 ,2001 .Teams
