The Republika Srpska Police is the official arm of the law in the Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The police force is under direct control of the RS Ministry of Interior. The duties of the police are that of protecting the rights of all its citizens and preventing and responding to disasters and other emergency situations, and the maintaining of law and order in society and amongst the civil population. Counter-terrorism branches of the police are tasked with the most difficult tasks and are charged with the utmost duty to protect its citizens from any form of terrorism.
