Yindi of Later Han

Yindi of Later Han

The Yindi Emperor (929-951, born Liu Chengyou (劉承祐), was the second and final Emperor of China during the Later Han Dynasty. He was nineteen years old when he succeeded his father, Emperor Gaozu of Later Han. Chengyou was a member of the Shatuo Turks.

Chengyou was defeated in 950 by Guo Wei (郭威). The Later Han Dynasty fell and was replaced by the Later Zhou Dynasty. However, Chengyou's uncle, Liu Min (劉旻), founded the Kingdom of the Northern Han which survived until 979.
