Catherine Cortez Masto is the current Nevada Attorney General. She was elected to replace George Chanos.

Personal

Cortez Masto was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1990, the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada in 1991 and the U.S. Court of Appeals, for the Ninth Circuit in 1994. Career before election

Masto spent time as prosecutor for the US Attorney's office. She also worked as chief of staff for the governor of Nevada. Prior to her election as Attorney General she served as the Assistant Clark County Manager.Fact|date=August 2007
