April 2 ,1854 -February 5 ,1909 ) was a U.S. Representative fromLouisiana .Born on Chatsworth plantation, near Franklin, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, Price attended various private schools.He was graduated from
Cumberland School of Law atCumberland University ,Lebanon, Tennessee , in 1875 and from the law department ofWashington University , St. Louis,Missouri , in 1877.He was admitted to the bar and practiced in St. Louis until 1880, when he returned to Louisiana and engaged in sugar planting.He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1888.Price was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-first Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of his father-in-law, Hon. Edward J. Gay.He was reelected to the Fifty-second, Fifty-third, and Fifty-fourth Congresses and served from
December 2 ,1889 , toMarch 3 ,1897 .He died at Acadia plantation,Lafourche Parish, Louisiana , onFebruary 5 ,1909 .He was interred in Mount Olivet Cemetery,Nashville, Tennessee .References
