Steven Moore is a leading expert on BBC One’s top rated factual programme The Antiques Roadshow specialising in British Ceramics from the 17th to 20th centuries as well as European decorative arts and 20th century European ceramics and design. His passion for ceramics began as a child with curios begged or borrowed from his grandmother's attic. Soon the ‘bric a brac’ gave way to pottery produced in his native Newcastle upon Tyne, eventually building up an unrivalled collection, the key pieces of which are now held in several public collections.
By the age of 16, he had curated his first exhibition and had written his first book by 21. After initially wanting to be an archaeologist he moved into antique dealing and writing.
Articles by Steven regularly appear in BBC Homes & Antiques magazine and he has written for top publications such as The World of Interiors, Country Life and Gardens Illustrated across a wide range of subjects.
A guest appearance on the revived version of “Going for a Song”, which saw him becoming the first person to score full marks in the shows history, lead to more television work, eventually becoming a regular on the Antiques Roadshow five years ago.
Recently Steven has begun to develop television formats working with companies such as Tiger Aspect within both factual and factual entertainment genres. Passionate about life, work and living, he currently works as a freelance arts and antiques consultant, writer and broadcaster.
