Ashley Thompson is a Mississippi born singer and actress. Ashley started singing in church at the age of 8 years old and at 10 years old knew that she wanted to sing for the rest of her life. She has won numerous local, regional and national singing contests, including the http://colgatecountryshowdown.com 2003 Colgate Country Showdown. Ashley is presently working on a music career in Nashville. She has previously studied voice under Renee Grant Williams and Kim Wood Sandusky of Nashville. work for Winston Sela of London and Michael Selacuse of Nashville. Guest appearances on North Mississippis Morning Show. Entertainer at Libertyland amusement park, Memphis, TN 1997 1999. Winner of MTVs Say What Karaoke, episode 21, Memphis, TN 1998. Performed for Crossroads Music Festival on Beale Street, Memphis, TN 1998. Ashley won the title of Miss North Mississippi in 1999 and competed in the Miss Mississippi Pageant later that year and was selected 1st Runner up to Heather Soriano. She was later the Headline performer in 2001 Miss Mississippi which aired throughout the state. The show won an Emmy award for Best Live Production and Direction in 2001. Ashley showcased her talent on Nashville Morning Show with Charlie Chase, in December 2001. She studied voice and dance under Linda Septian (Jessica Simpson's vocal coach) and Fenton Fulgham, Dallas, TX. She was the overall winner Sing to Win at the Wild Horse Saloon, Nashville. She was the 2003 Colgate Country Showdown national winner and won the title Best New Act in Country Music. The show was telecast with host Billy Ray Cyruss. on national television between March and May 2003. Ashley is an unsigned recording artist doing demos and other works as of 2008.
