Stagecoach, Colorado

Stagecoach, Colorado opened to the public in 1971. Developed by the Woodmoor Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Although full of great terrain and on the north side of the mountain, financial problems of the developer nixed the project after its second season of skiing.

Now considered a "lost" ski hill, rumors of reopening are common, but are always denied by the Wittemeyer Family who have owned the property for over twenty five years. [http://www.coloradoskihistory.com/lostresorts.html]

tagecoach State Park

A reservoir was built in the early 1980s and now Stagecoach State Park [http://parks.state.co.us/Parks/Stagecoach/] offers great fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and winter cross-country skiing and dog-sledding.

The Community

The community is now quickly growing along with nearby Steamboat Springs and has a firehouse built in 2006 and new neighborhoods under development. An elementary school site has been allocated when the current facility in nearby Yampa Colorado reaches capacity.
