cihuatlatoani " (queen) of thepre-Columbian Acolhua "altepetl " ofTepetlaoztoc in theValley of Mexico . Her name, pronounced IPA| [aːsˈkaʃoːtʃ] , isNahuatl for a kind of a flower (literally "ant-flower").A daughter of
Nezahualcoyotl , ruler of Texoco, Azcasuch marriedCocopin , the ruler of Tepetlaoztoc. After her husband's death, she ascended to the throne herself asqueen regnant .Azcasuch was succeeded by her grandson,
