Carlos Barragan

Carlos Barragan is an Argentine illusioner and magician and is the only Latin American to have won the World Championship in magic.

A little history…

The first and only Latin American in history to won the World Magic Championship in Great Illusions (after 15 years to be deser) is the Argentine Carlos Barragán. From very young (third generation of magicians), its boldness took it to innovate in the rate and forms of its acts, imprimiendo a seal personal, waited for by its colleagues in each encounter or competition to them and applauded by the public in each presentation. Year 1984 found with several national prizes and the accomplishment of the surprising disappearance, in the Liberating Hall the Sheraton Hotel, of a car of the Volkswagen line. Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay know their presentations, and the Argentine TV counts it like a one of its members, until the point to immortalize to one of its doves in the logo of well-known channel 9. Until the present time, he is the only winner of the First Prize of the American Championship in Theater Magic, and one became 1988 in the first Argentine who competed in a World-wide Championship (FISM´88, Give Haag, Holland, in General Magic). 1995 register it like the only magician of the history that a protagónico personage of a lírica work incarnates, in the world-wide opening of the opera Noticeable Letters (the following year the Plácido tenor Domingo would sing part of this opera during his visit to our country). The 10 of December 1997, 40,000 spectators applauded Carlos Barragán, next to the dancer Julio Bocca and other artists, in first megaevento, made in the Stage of the Athletic Club Juniors Mouth. Carlos Barragán is an artist who has known to unite the magic, the theater, the dance and music, thus obtaining to make the successful theater season Metropolitan 1998, with the first Argentine magical musical comedy, “Barragán the Magician”. Carlos Barragán has presented/displayed his show in all the continents: guest specially to the Gallic International of FISM 2000 in Lisbon, Portugal; in its successful tour by China in 2001; in the main show of the Dutch Real Wedding of Maxima and Prince Guillermo, made the 2 of February 2002. During the past few years it has lived in the United States, where it was dedicated fundamentally to the accomplishment of private events and the investigation of new tendencies. Today one is in Argentina, while it prepares its presentation for the next World-wide Championship. Recently Carlos Barragán has made his first summery season in the Mar del Plata with his new Show “-Carlos Barragan the Magic”, that was worth the Nomination to him to the Prize Estrella de Mar 2007 like better spectacle in varieté.
