HMAS Fremantle (J246)

The first HMAS "Fremantle" (J246/M246) was a Bathurst class corvette built by Evans Deakin & Co at Brisbane in Queensland, launched on 18 March 1942 by Mrs. J. Curtin, wife of the Prime Minister John Curtin, and commissioned on 24 March 1943.

HMAS "Fremantle" paid off to reserve on 22 June 1959 and was sold for scrap to the Kinoshita Company of Japan on 6 January 1961.
