April 13 ,1962 inOshawa ,Ontario ) is a formeroffensive line man in theCanadian Football League .He played for the
Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1985 to 1996 and spent a portion of the 1995 season with theOttawa Rough Riders . Black was a CFL all-star in 1993 and a CFL Eastern all-star in 1994. His most notable performance was in the game whereMatt Dunigan threw for 713 yards against theEdmonton Eskimos in which Black was recognized by the CFL as 'Offensive Lineman of the Week'. He attendedWilfrid Laurier University from 1983 to 1985. Black also attendedMichigan State University for a brief period of time. In 2005, Black was inducted into the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Hall of Fame. He was traded in 1995 from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to the Ottawa Rough Riders where he spent three months of the season and was soon traded back toWinnipeg . Then soon after coming back Black retired. Black still resides in Winnipeg and is the defensive coordinator of WHSFL Oak Park High School varsity team. In 2007 his Oak Park Raiders went 4–3, but after a huge upset in the semi finals, a 9–8 win over the reigning WHSFL Champions, who were undefeated for three back-to-back-to-back seasons, and another upset in the championship game against three-time Anavet bowl finalists 29–19, the Oak Park Raiders became WHSFL champions for the first time in five years since their 28–0, three-championship reign.
