Kimbundo language

The Kimbundo language ("mbundu") is one of the most spoken Bantu languages in Angola. It is spoken in the northwest of this country, including the province of Luanda. Portuguese has many lexical borrowings from Kimbundo, obtained either in Angola or in Brazil. It is spoken by approximately 3 million people in Angola, as a first or second language.

Kimbundo is also known as "mbundu", "loanda", "luanda", "lunda", "loande", "mbundu do norte", "nbundu", "n'bundo" and "kindongo".
