1993 in Armenian football

1993 in Armenian football was the second season of indepentent football after the split-up from the Soviet Union. Professional football existed of two divisions, the Armenian Premier League (containing 16 teams) and the Armenian First League (1 group of 12 and 1 group of 11 teams). Out of the 16 Premier Legaue teams, three would relegate, while the two First League group winners would promote for the 1994 season.

Premier League

*Before the start of the season Syunik Kapan withdrew from competition.
*FC Kilikia Yerevan merged with Malatia Yerevan to form Malatia-Kilikia Yerevan.
*NIG Ararat were unexpectedly promoted and changed their name into FC Tsement.
*Homenetmen Yerevan changed their name into Homenetmen AOSS Yerevan.
*Homenmen-Fima SKIF Yerevan were renamed to Homenmen-Skif Yerevan.
*Shengavit Yerevan changed their name into Yerazank Yerevan.
*FC Ararat Yerevan won their first Armenian championship and were the first every team to lift the trophy unshared.
*Kasakh Ashtarak and Malatia-Kilikia Yerevan relegated for the 1994 season.

*Before the start of the season Debed Alaverdi withdrew from competition.
*Malatia Yerevan merged with FC Kilikia Yerevan to form Malatia-Kilikia Yerevan, playing in the Premier League.
*NIG Ararat were unexpectedly promoted to the Premier League and changed their name into FC Tsement.
*Zoravan Yeghvard changed their name into FC Yeghvard.
