Shakrial

Shakrial is a rapidly growing town in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It is divided into two parts, Old Shakrial and New Shakrial. Its population is mainly Sunni. The native peoples of Shakrial are Qureshis but now people from every caste live there.There is a darbar in Shakrial of Saeen Botta Sarkar and Saeen Ditta Sarkar. Every year in the summer season, people gather there for Urs. It is an urban area, and is in a prominent position, as the airport to Islamabad road is nearby. There is one central graveyard there.

Sports

Cricket is one of the main sports played in Shakrial. There was main cricket ground near the graveyard, but with the passage of time and the graveyard expanding, the ground no longer exists.Although shakrial did not produced any cricket player internationally but local players that played their game during the years were Aslam khan(New shakrial),Nambardar Sujjad(New shakrial),Rafeeq (New shakrial),Arshad khan(New shakrial),Tanveer shah (New shakrial),Waqar Shah(New shakrial),Naeem (New shakrial),Tanoo Shah (New shakrial),Irfan Kashmiri (New shakrial),Tariq qureshi (Old shakrial),Saleemo(Old shakrial),Raja left hand batsman(Old shakrial),Amjad(Handlaa) (Old shakrial),Mukhtar(Old shakrial),Mujahdi(Old shakrial),Raees(Old shakrial),arshad(Old shakrial), Raheel Afzal(New Shakrial) and many more.Before some of the tournaments were arranged by peoples in night.But now unfortunately there is no more ground available thats why the young generation is diverted to another activities.

Political structure

The political structure of shakrial is same as the political culture of entire country.But the town is looking forward for good things in near future

Mohalla Islam nagar

Mohalla Islam nagar is one of the mohalla is shakrial.This area comes under the Nazim Tariq Qureshi. Muhammad Afzal Khan is Chairman of Muhallah Islam Nagar Local Zakat Committee .The mohalla population is about 300 to 500 peoples.Only few of these peoples are old living i.e. Mr. Mosam Khan, Haji Gulzar Awan, Muhammad Afzal Khan, Raja Muhammad Saeed and Zahoor Ahmed while maximum are new peoples that came here with the development of Islamabad.There is one mosque in Mohalla islam nagar and is donate by MR Gulzar(Marhoom).Education level is good in mohalla islam nagar,and people from this mohalla went abroad to other countries like U.K,Kuwait,U.S and other gulf countries.The future of Shakrial is seems pretty good,with the passage of time the lands prices as well as home prices are flying.But hope so that after some time it will be a good place to live.
