Immediacy is a content management system for creating and maintaining websites and intranets. Immediacy CMS was originally developed by a company of the same name founded in 1996 by Nigel Jackson and John Greenlees. Immediacy CMS powers websites and intranets at organisations such as the
BBC ,The Sage Group , Virgin Retail Group,British Museum , Department for Transport, London Borough of Tower Hamlets andBritish Transport Police .The Immediacy CMS has a browser-based interface, similar to standard office software. The
WYSIWYG interface allows users to create pages featuring tables, images, and database driven content. Additional features includedocument management , auto categorisation and automatic synchronisation of content between multiple servers. The system is built aroundMicrosoft .NET and usesMicrosoft SQL Server for content storage.Immediacy CMS was independently reviewed in May 2007 by market analysts
Bloor Research which concluded that the CMS was intuitive, easy to use and enabled "subject matter experts" to create standards compliant XHTML pages without requiring technical skills.
