The Asiatic grass frog, "Rana chensinensis", is a species of true frog found in northern Asia. It ranges across northern and central China as well as Mongolia, and may also be found in North Korea and Russia. A high-altitude species, it ranges up to 4000 meters but is not found below 600 meters. It prefers mountain forests near water, but is also found in farm fields and wetlands. Within China, it is hunted for use in food and medicine.
