Metasequoia Developer(s) Osamu Mizuno Stable release 2.4.10 / October 18, 2009 Operating system Microsoft Windows Type 3D computer graphics License shareware, freeware Website www.metaseq.net Metasequoia is 3D polygon modeling software for 3D computer graphics and video game development. Though less capable than other, more professional 3D programs, the interface is less complex than that of similar programs and has proven a good intro for people new to 3D editing. Mainly written for the Japanese market, it is also available in English. This is accomplished through external text language files.
Metasequoia is available both as freeware and a paid for version. The paid version is generally not available outside of Japan and mainly has additional export options.
Contents
Tomb Raider
Metasequoia has proven popular with users of the Tomb Raider Level Editor, for editing 3D models. Level object files are opened using StripX and then individual models are exported and edited with Metasequoia.
Final Fantasy XI
Generally, users that modify the 3D models in Final Fantasy will use this program. This is because the primary method of obtaining a way to edit the models is using a program that converts to Metasequoia files.
Character rigging
Metasequoia cannot rig characters (adding bones) on its own, but is generally used with the program Mikoto
