Nicolae Kovacs

Nicolae Covaci (in Hungarian "Kovács Miklós") (29 December 1911 – 7 July 1977) [Nicolae Kovacs at [http://www.romaniansoccer.ro/national_team/national_team.shtml romaniansoccer.ro] , [http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/archive/edition=1/teams/team=43964.html fifa.com] , [http://www.weltfussball.de/spieler_profil.php?id=10330 www.weltfussball.de] ] was a Romanian footballer of Hungarian ethnicity.

For the Romania national football team, he won 37 caps and participated in the 1930, 1934, and 1938 World Cups, being one of five players to have appeared in all three of the pre-war World Cups. [The other players were Edmond Delfour, Étienne Mattler, Bernard Voorhoof and Patesko, according to official FIFA match reports. Patesko, however, is not listed in many sources as part of the 1930 Brazilian squad, shortening the list to four players.] (There was also a Romanian squad member named Rudolf Bürger who was selected for three tournaments).
