Ovacık, Fethiye

Ovacık is a small village in the Fethiye district, Muğla Province of Turkey adjoining the holiday resort of Hisarönü consisting mainly of small hotels, and private villas. Here you will find a number of small restaurants and bars catering for the people who prefer a quiter evening out than the hustle and bustle of Hisarönü. The village is set on a small plateau at the foot of Babadağ (Turkish: father mountain), a favourite spot for paragliders from all over Europe. Together with Ölüdeniz, the fabulous blue lagoon and Belcekız beach are all within ten minutes reach. This area makes up the Ölüdeniz municipality of Fethiye a city and district of Muğla Province in the Aegean region of Turkey with 45,000 inhabitants (2005).
