Barcelona ,Spain ) more commonly known as Bansi Quinteros is a trance keyboardistBiography
Bansi (Josef Quinteros) was born in Barcelona in 1976; he has a long history in trance. The family moved to Amsterdam. His first experience was when he 1 and half he crawled into his dads base drum to sleep. By the time he was six he was already involved in music school.
He was got his drums at seven, then base with 11-years. Until he was 17, he played in a band that played anything everywhere anytime. At the time Bansi's mother was into the late 80's acid
electronic music craze and he hated it!His Dad had always wanted him to meet his friend’s son by the name of Riktam. After a year of trying to convince Bansi to meet Riktam, but when they finally met, it turned out it was this guy he had got friendly white at the coffee shop!
Then in the year 1992-3 season they both went to Goa. There they had a full circle of friends that bounced from Poona to Goa, the axis of early trance. The Goa music scene got them hooked to trance. But when the y came back to Poona, where the trance was of a lighter and melodic flavor they talked to their friends about it. They in turn urged the two to go back to Amsterdam and basically do it your self. This Bansi took to heart and as soon he came back he began on cassettes and recording music.
In 1995 he returned to Goa with a DAT machine and played at parties there. The new cleaner uplifting style of Trance/Techno that he had brought was met with incredible success. By the time 95 ended Riktam and Bani had firmly established themselves in Goa, basically having a lot of fun with the whole thing. Since then Bansi has been playing gigs almost non-stop.
Around 1997 the boys got an Atari and made their first sequences. Out of those early days it was 'Jaws" and "Roller-coaster" that had impact on the dance-floor.
