Absadah

Absadah

Absadah was a Christian priest and martyr.

He was born near Behnesa in Egypt. Upon the start of the Diocletian Persecution, he locked himself in his house for safety. Later, he recounted that Jesus appeared to him; he voluntarily came before the court, and was sent to Alexandria. There he was visited by Jules D'acfahs.

He was sentenced to death by being burned alive. However, he was actually executed by being beheaded outside the walls of the city. He was buried at Cairo.

He is commemorated as a saint, with a feast day of January 19.
