Though most of his clients were private businessmen, he also worked for Chan Kong-Sang (Jackie Chan), Hong Jin Bao (Samo Hung) and Cynthia Rothrock to name a few in the world of Martial arts.
Shaun is a senior western student of
Ip Chun (葉準 or Yip Jun) and is one of only 18 people in the world who have Master Ip Chun's personal certification and permission to teach for and represent him world-wide. Shaun was instrumental in planning and starting the Ip Chun Wing Chun Kuen Martial Arts Association in Hong Kong with Ip Chun in1992 and the European Ip Chun Wing Chun Association in2005 . Shaun runs the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen organisation ( [http://www.wingchun.co.uk/ Midlands Wing Chun Kuen (UK)] ) with schools around theUnited Kingdom and northern Italy. In 1999 at the 1st World Ving Tsun Conference in Hong Kong, he gave one of the most memorable, practical and entertaining demonstrations of Wing Chun street self defence to the background music of "the good, the bad and the ugly"Shaun is a certified Instructor with the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Hong Kong, a permanent member Yip Man Martial Arts Athletic Association Ltd in Hong Kong and is a registered coach, certified by The National Coaching Foundation in the UK. Shaun is the author of 'Simply ... Wing Chun Kung Fu' (now in its second printing), which has been highly acclaimed by Combat Martial Arts Magazine and on Amazon, has recently been translated and published in French by a Parisian publisher.His second book: 'Wing Chun Kung Fu, The Wooden Dummy' was published in June 2008.
In 1999, Shaun was presented with an award "in recognition of his commitment and devotion to the development of martial arts in the United Kingdom and around the world" at the 1st COMBAT Hall of Fame awards.In 2001 he was presented with an award “in recognition of the contribution to gain martial arts practice greater popularity in both the UK and the world” at the 3rd annual COMBAT Hall of Fame awards and in 2002 Shaun was made an 'Honorary Committee Member of Ip Man Tong' by the Ip Man Tong Development Council, Foshan.
In 2008, Shaun's image will appear in a set of collectable stamps for the Olympic Wu Shu stamp album for the 2008 Olympics.
