The 30th Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry was an infantry regiment that

served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

The 30th Illinois Infantry was organized at Camp Butler, Illinois and mustered into

Federal service on August 28, 1861.

The regiment was mustered out on July 16, 1865 and discharged at Chicago, Illinois on July 24, 1865.

Total strength and casualties

The regiment suffered 10 officers and 115 enlistedmen who were killed in action or who died of

their wounds and 2 officers and 218 enlistedmen who died of disease, for a total of 345
