Irish regiment

An Irish regiment is a regiment (or similar military unit), excluding those actually in the Irish Defence Forces, that at some time in its history has or had intentional recruitment consisting primarily of members either from Ireland or of Irish descent. Irish regiments took part in several conflicts in world history.
