Thomas Battersby

Thomas Sydney Battersby (born 18 November 1887, [cite web| url=http://www.olympics.org.uk/athleterecord.aspx?at=5411| title=British Olympic Association profile] Wigan district, [England and Wales Birth Register Index; Thomas Sidney Battersby; district: Wigan; volume:8c; page: 115] date of death unknown) was a British freestyle swimmer who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics and 1912 Summer Olympics.

In the 1908 Olympics he reached to the semifinals in the 400 metre freestyle and won a silver medal in the 1500 metre freestyle.

Four years later he reached to the semifinals in the 400 metre freestyle and 1500 metre freestyle. He was also a member of British 4×200 metre relay team, which won a bronze medal.
