The Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA) was the subcommittee of the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) of the USA Joint Chiefs of Staff and was directly responsible for Operation Paperclip, which broght German scientists to the United States after World War II. JOIA's administered the Paperclip policies and procedures, compiled dossiers, and served as liaison to British intelligence officers operating a similar project. The JOIA was also responsible for collecting, declassifying, and distributing Combined Intelligence Objectives Subcommittee (CIOS) and other technical intelligence reports on German science and industry. In addition, the JOIA took over many of the activities of CIOS when that organization was terminated. The JOIA also maintained personnel dossiers on over 1,500 German and other foreign scientists, technicians, and engineers, and transferred the dossiers to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).[ ]cite web | title = Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency |url= http://www.archives.gov/iwg/declassified-records/rg-330-defense-secretary/ |publisher= U.S. National Archives and Records Administration] Among the dossiers are those on
