The 4th Regiment Iowa Volunteer Cavalry was an cavalry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

The 4th Iowa Cavalry was organized at Mount Pleasant, Iowa and mustered in for three years of Federal service between November 23, 1861 and [January 1] , 1862.

The regiment was mustered out of Federal service on August 10, 1865 at Atlanta, Georgia and discharged at Davenport, Iowa on August 24, 1865.

Total strength and casualties

A total of 1952 men served in the 4th Iowa at one time or another during its existence.
