"Hopelessly Incapable of Standing in the Way" is the debut CD/EP by Spain Colored Orange in 2005. This is their EP before their debut full-length album "Sneaky Like a Villan" also on Lucid Records.
They came out of nowhere with this catchy, persistent music, combining a variety of musical genres, from indie rock to 70's rock to psychedelic to jazz to Tijuana brass. There are several variations of this sound, but if you asked the bartender for a "Spain Colored Orange", here's what you'd get: Abbey Road-era Beatles/Spoon/Brazil 66/ELO/Elliott Smith/Buena Vista Social Club/John Lennon/Olivia Tremor Control/Os Mutantes with an Orange twist, of course.
