Kevin Matisyn is the former singer for the band Evans Blue. Before forming the band in February 2005, Matisyn aimed to be a paramedic and worked for Canadian Blood Services. Matisyn wrote the lyrics and created the vocal harmonies and melodies for Evans Blue albums, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume and The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends. Foremost amongst his influences is Canadian singer-songwriter Matthew Good.

ide Project

Kevin Matisyn and Nixon, of Framing Hanley, formed a band called Parabelle, and performed 2 live acoustic shows. Two of the live songs can be found on their MySpace called "Selfish" and Doesn't Matter". Also there is a song that's called "PARAMEDLEY Parts of 3 songs". These song samples sound like they were done in the studio. There is no information yet that there will be and album.

olo Album

Kevin Matisyn is hard at work with his debut CD "Level" which according to Kevin Matisyn: "I'm currently recording a full length album. It's some acoustic stuff and some rock-esque stuff. I'm not sure when it's gonna be released exactly but I'll let you know as soon as I know." On his myspace he has demos of songs that might come out on the CD, the songs are: Viva Forever, War Song, Black Tie Affair and Bend, a song that was coming out for the Evans Blue 3rd CD, but his is going to the song remake it for his CD. Lastly a demo called, "MARISSA'S SONG" was leaked onto YouTube on November 30, 2007.

In August due to a court order Bend was removed from his myspace; Kevin insists the song will be included on his solo album. As of early September Viva Forever had also been removed.

Musical Differences

On July 28, 2008 Matisyn posted on his MySpace page that he is "Formerly of Evans Blue." This was confirmed by Evans Blue on their Myspace page. Parker Lauzon of the band sent out a Myspace bulletin clarifying that Matisyn was voted out of the band due to his inability to make good decisions for the band. In the bulletin Parker is quoted stating that "We did not choose anyone over him he was simply voted out, not only because of musical differences but business differences as well. He simply was not making good decisions for this band anymore and we as a group have decided to move on."

The Stage...

On August 4, 2008 Matisyn posted 12 demos that would have been on Evans Blue 3rd album "The Stage is Set for the Revival of an Anthem" for download, along with B-sides from the Stage. B-side includes a collections of demos of songs that never appear on Evans Blue's albums and Michelle's Song, a very rare and hard to find song by Evans Blue, that had been written for a girl with cancer; the version released was said to be the version they gifted her with in 2006.
