Joop van Daele (born 14 August, 1947 in Rotterdam) is a retired Dutch footballer who was active as a defender.

Van Daele started his career in his town of birth, Rotterdam where he played for RVAV Overmaas, before he joined Eredivisie side Feijenoord. After playing a while in Feijenoord's youth squads Van Daele was promoted into the first team selection and he made his official debut on 5 May 1968 when Feijenoord beat Sittardia 5-1. Van Daele was part of the most successful period in Feijenoord's history, starting with an Eredivisie Championship in the 1968-69 season. The following season Feijenoord and Van Daele won the European Cup 1969-70 and were crowned the best team in Europe, to eventually become the best team of the world after Estudiantes La Plata was beaten in the final of the Intercontinental Cup. The first match in Buenos Aires' La Bombonera finished in a 2-2 draw. Back in Rotterdam Feijenoord managed a 1-0 victory over the Argentinians with Joop van Daele as the match winner. Estudiantes player Oscar Malbernat got frustrated and grabbed Van Daele's glasses and trampled on it. "You are not allowed to play with glasses." was his excuse, "At least not in South America."

In 1971 Feijenoord won their 10th Dutch Championship and in 1973 the club decided to change their name to Feyenoord. Under their new name they participated in the UEFA Cup 1973-74 and won the final after beating Tottenham Hotspur in two legs (2-2 and 2-0). Van Daele stayed at the Rotterdam based club until March 1976, when he was sent on loan towards Go Ahead where he played a total of nine matches before returning to Feyenoord. The following season he played another 21 matches in the red and white jerseys before leaving for sure. He became a key player at Eerste Divisie side Fortuna SC, but was unable to help the team to promote to the Eredivisie. Van Daele however would play one more season on Eredivisie level when he was signed by Excelsior Rotterdam in the 1980-81 season before retiring from professional football.

After his career Van Daele became an assistant manager at Fortuna SC, Excelsior Rotterdam and DS'79. At this last team he even became the official manager in the 1983-84 season. Later he would manage several amateur sides, of which he led VV Papendrecht a total of seven years, winning one championship and one district cup. In 2006 he re-joined Feyenoord to become a scout at his former club.
