Fausto de Elhuyar was in charge, under aKing of Spain commission, of organizing theSchool of Mining inMéxico City and so was responsible of building an architectural jewel known as "Palacio de Minería ". Elhuyar abandonedMexico right after theMexican War of Independence , when most of the Spanish residents inMexico were expelled.He was born in
Logroño , son of French-Basque parents fromHasparren (Labourd ) , and died inMadrid .References
