Total teacher and administrator payroll

Total payroll for teachers and administrators in New Lenox School District 122 has greatly exceeded the rate of inflation as well. The total increase in payroll is lower as a % than the average increase in salary on a teacher by teacher basis due to pension spiking. This practice results in large in increases in teacher compensation in the years immediately preceding retirement. When these teachers retire this then removes that teachers compensation from the next year's total salary resulting in lower total payroll. [2]
