William Henry Hill (March 23, 1877 - July 24, 1972) was a U.S. Representative from New York.
Born in Plains, Pennsylvania, Hill attended the public schools.He was graduated from the high school at Binghamton, New York.He served as mayor of Lestershire (now Johnson City), New York from 1898 to 1901. Postmaster of Lestershire 1902-1910.He was editor and publisher of the Record at Johnson City 1898-1921.He served as member of the State senate 1914-1918.
Hill was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-sixth Congress (March 4, 1919-March 3, 1921).He was not a candidate for reelection in 1920 to the Sixty-seventh Congress.He served as delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1924, 1928, 1932, 1940, and 1944.He was appointed as a member of the New York State Parks Commission by Governor Smith in 1925 and elected chairman in 1933.He served as chairman of the New York Hoover-for-President Committee in 1928.He served as vice chairman of the Republican Campaign Committee in the East in 1932. Trustee of Syracuse University.He served as member of the Republican executive committee of the State of New York. Newspaper publisher until 1960. Resided in Binghamton, New York, where he died July 24, 1972.He was interred in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, New York.
