Harish Patel is an
India nactor . Although mainly associated with the stage, he has also appeared in films and on television. He began performing at the age of seven, when he played both male and female parts in theHindu epic "Ramayana ". In 1975, he joined theIndian National Theatre and did his first professional play "Neela Kamra ".From 1975 to 1981, Patel worked with the eminent Indian theatre director
Satyadeo Dubey . His repertoire has included classical and modern Indian plays as well as plays by Western writers, e.g.Pinter 's "The Caretaker ",Sartre 's "No Exit ",Camus ' "Cross Purpose ",Ionesco 's "The Lesson ", andMrozek 's "Vrotislav ". His acting career has taken him all over India. He has also performed abroad, in the UK, theUSA andDubai among others. In the spring of 2007, Patel took centre stage at the National Theatre inLondon , when he played the lead role of Eeshwar Dutt in "Rafta, Rafta... ", a comedy written byAyub Khan-Din and directed byNicholas Hytner to critical acclaim and sellout crowds.Patel is a Life Member of the
