John N. Hungerford

John Newton Hungerford (December 31, 1825 - April 2, 1883) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Vernon, New York, Hungerford completed preparatory studies.He was graduated from Hamilton College at Clinton, New York, in 1846.He settled in Corning, New York, in 1848 and engaged in the banking business.He served as delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1872.

Hungerford was elected as a Republican to the Forty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1877-March 3, 1879).He resumed banking business.He died in Corning, New York, April 2, 1883.He was interred in Glenwood Cemetery, Watkins Glen, New York.
