Isaac Wilson

Isaac Wilson (June 25, 1780 - October 25, 1848) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Middlebury, Vermont, Wilson served in the War of 1812 as captain of Cavalry.He moved to Genesee County, New York.He served as member of the State assembly in 1816 and 1817.He served in the State senate 1818-1821.He served as judge of the Genesee County Court from May 9, 1821, to February 10, 1823. Presented credentials as a Member-elect to the Eighteenth Congress and served from March 4, 1823, to January 7, 1824, when he was succeeded by Parmenio Adams, who contested his election.He served as again judge of the Genesee County Court from February 2, 1830, to January 23, 1836.He moved to Batavia, Illinois.He was appointed postmaster of Batavia on February 6, 1841, and served until July 21, 1846, when his successor was appointed.He died in Batavia, Illinois, on October 25, 1848.He was interred in East Batavia Cemetery.
