Harmanus Peek

Harmanus Peek (June 24, 1782 - September 27, 1838) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Albany, New York, Peek completed preparatory studies.He was graduated from Union College, Schenectady, New York, in 1804.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Schenectady.He served as member of the State assembly in 1816 and 1817.

Peek was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Sixteenth Congress (March 4, 1819-March 3, 1821).He served as chairman of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of State (Sixteenth Congress).He was not a candidate for reelection.He died in Schenectady, New York, September 27, 1838.He was interred in Dutch Church Cemetery.He was reinterred in Vale Cemetery.
