Abram B. Olin

Abram Baldwin Olin (September 21, 1808 - July 7, 1879) was a U.S. Representative from New York, son of Gideon Olin.

Born in Shaftsbury, Vermont, Olin attended the common schools, and was graduated from Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1835.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1838 and commenced practice in Troy, New York. Recorder of the city of Troy 1844-1852.

Olin was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-fifth, Thirty-sixth, and Thirty-seventh Congresses (March 4, 1857-March 3, 1863).He was appointed by President Lincoln an associate justice of the supreme court of the District of Columbia and served from March 11, 1863, until he voluntarily retired January 13, 1879.He died near Sligo, Maryland, July 7, 1879.He was interred in the Danforth family lot adjacent to West Lawn Cemetery, Williamstown, Massachusetts.
