Holstein ) onDecember 10 ,1813 during theWar of the Sixth Coalition .The
Danish Auxiliary Corps which fought on the French side, was pushed back by the allies (Swedish, Prussian, Russian) under Swedish General Wallmoden in early December1813 , but theDanes commanded by Prince ofHesse n managed to secure their retreat by the victory in the battle of Sehested.However, the battle could not change the course of the war which ended in
Denmark ’s defeat in1814 .The Danish causalities were 550 men. The allies lost more than 2,000 men.
