Oliver P. Snyder (November 13, 1833 - November 22, 1882) was a U.S. Representative from Arkansas.
Born in Missouri, Snyder completed preparatory studies. He moved to Arkansas in 1853. He engaged in scientific and literary pursuits and at the same time studied law. He was admitted to the bar and practiced in Pine Bluff. He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1864 and 1865. He served as delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1867. He served in the State senate 1868-1871. He served as member of the committee to revise and rearrange the statutes of Arkansas in 1868.
Snyder was elected as a Republican to the Forty-second and Forty-third Congresses (March 4, 1871-March 3, 1875). He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1874. He resumed the practice of his profession.
Snyder was elected treasurer of Jefferson County in 1882 and served until his death in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, November 22, 1882. He was interred in Bellewood Cemetery.
