- Tasmanian Seamounts Marine Reserve
The Tasmanian Seamounts Marine Reserve is a
Marine Protected Area of the coast ofHobart inTasmania ,Australia . The reserve encompasses approximately 70seamounts in a compact area. They are situated on depths between 1000 and 2000 metres and the highest ones reach to 660 metres below the surface of the ocean. The area covers about 370 square kilometres.The reserve was created at May 12, 1999 in line with the
National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act of 1975.
