Waterhead (or archaically, Waterhead Mill), is a locality and electoral ward within the east of the town of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. A predominantly upland area, it has a total resident population of 12,876.cite web |url=http://www.neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/dissemination/LeadKeyFigures.do?a=7&b=5941608&c=waterhead&d=14&e=16&g=352832&i=1001x1003x1004&m=0&enc=1 |title=Waterhead (Ward) |author=United Kingdom Census 2001 |publisher=neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk |accessdate=2007-06-02 ]

Although a today mere residential district within the east of the large town of Oldham, Waterhead once formed its own ecclesiastical parish within Prestwich-cum-Oldham, in the Salfordshire hundred of Lancashire.cite web |url=http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=50889&strquery=prestwich-cum-oldham#s5 |title='Watchett - Waterstock' A Topographical Dictionary of England |date=1848 |author=British History Online |publisher=Victoria County History |accessdate=2007-06-02] Waterhead also formed a significant part of the Oldham Above Town registration district.

Waterhead was the site of considerable industry and commerce, including coal mining and cotton spinning.

Waterhead is located next to parts of Greenacres, Salem, Moorside and Lees, and Austerlands and Scouthead from the west side of Saddleworth. The main road from Oldham to Huddersfield passes through the locality.

Waterhead also provides the terminus for First Manchester's 82 service to Manchester via Oldham. The area is also served by First's 350 service between Oldham and Ashton, Bluebird's 410 and 411 circular services and Checkmate's 418 service between Austerlands and Chadderton.
