He would play for theNew York Yankees ,St. Louis Cardinals ,Philadelphia Phillies , andPittsburgh Pirates .In 1944 Lindell hit four doubles in a game, tied for the major league record. He led the AL in total bases in 1944, and in triples in 1943 and 1944. He also pitched during 1942 and 1953, with an 8-18 record and 4.47 ERA. His control was off in 1953--he lead the league in bases on balls and wild pitches.
Lindell recorded 468 putouts in 1944, the 10th best season total for an outfielder during the years he played.
