Nizhneyansk (Russian: Нижнеянск) is a river port settlement in Ust-Yansky Ulus of the Sakha Republic, Russia, located in the delta of the Yana River, 581 km north from Deputatsky, the administrative center of the ulus. Population: 476 (2007 est);[citation needed] 701 (2002 Census);[1] 2,502 (1989 Census).[2]
Nizhneyansk was founded in the 1940s and was granted urban-type settlement status in 1958.
